  4. About this file.
  5. This file contains a repeat of the installation instructions, including any 
  6. late changes. There is also extra information to help you should you 
  7. encounter any difficulty.

  10. Installation Instructions
  11.  
  12. Important:  Like all calendars, it is essential that your computer is set to 
  13. the correct date and time.  Set the date and time formats to the standard 
  14. settings for ╘British╒, ╘UK╒ or ╘United States╒.  Any other country or custom 
  15. settings will probably mean that the calendar will not work. Consult your 
  16. manuals if you need help to change these settings.

  18. Windows 3.1
  19. 1.  Start your computer and start Windows.
  20. 2.  Quit any applications you may have open.
  21. 3.  Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.
  22. 4.  In the ╘File╒ menu, select ╘Run╒.
  23. 5.  Type  D:\santa.exe (where D is the letter of your CD-ROM drive).
  24. 6.  The Advent Calendar will start, taking you to the appropriate day.

  27. Windows 95
  28. 1.  Start your computer.
  29. 2.  Quit any applications you may have open.
  30. 3.  Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.
  31. 4.  Click the ╘Start╒ button and select ╘Run╒.
  32. 5.  Type  D:\santa95.exe (where D is the letter of your CD-ROM drive).
  33. 6.  The Advent Calendar will start, taking you to the appropriate day.

  35. If you have enough free space, you can copy the entire CD to your hard 
  36. disk. You will benefit from increased performance, but note that you must 
  37. still have the CD-ROM in your drive for it to work.

  40. Macintosh
  41. 1. Start your Macintosh.
  42. 2.  Quit any applications you may have open.
  43. 3.  Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.
  44. 4.  Double click the ╘Advent╒ CD icon to open its window.
  45. 5.  Double click the appropriate icon for your computer.
  46.     - ╥Santa Mac╙ for standard Macintosh
  47.     - ╥Santa PPC╙ for Power Macintosh
  48. 6.  The Advent Calendar will start, taking you to the appropriate day.

  50. If you have enough free space, you can copy the entire CD by dragging the 
  51. CDs icon to your hard disk. Having done this, if you are lucky enough to 
  52. have loads of free RAM, you may like to increase the amount used by the 
  53. calendar, by using the Get Info window. You will benefit from increased 
  54. performance, but note that you must still have the CD-ROM in your drive 
  55. for it to work.

  78. Troubleshooting
  79. If your computer only sees the CD as an audio disc, you will need to 
  80. update your driver software. Contact your local dealer, on-line resources 
  81. or computer manufacturer for assistance.

  83. We have tested this disc with as many different computer configurations 
  84. as possible, but it is impossible to test every option. If you 
  85. have problems, we cannot offer telephone support, but please look at our
